Hey everybody, David Ursino here. I'm actually not going to talk about Vaughan real estate today. As you can see, I'm here lurking in the dark in our very own haunted house right here in Vaughan. I’m standing at the Doctor’s House in Kleinburg. It’s an old building with quite some history and some interesting stories. I did a little research today and found an article that was published in Vaughan Today back in 2007 and it uncovered some interesting things that happened here at the Doctor’s House. A lot of these things have been witnessed by people who have worked here in the past or that have owned the Doctor’s House. There’s some stuff that’s pretty unexplained, kind of scary actually. For example, an old employee Marion D’Eathe that use to work here witnesses some very unexplained things such as lights going off. They would lock up the Doctor’s House, they would all leave together and as they left and looked back, all the lights were back on at the Doctor’s House. They would hear music sometimes. After locking the whole place up, they would hear music coming from the piano when they were sure the place was empty. There was an owner, who every night at 10:20 would witness the lights dimming by themselves and then the Christmas Tree would shake violently for a while. One of the weirdest things that D’Eathe witnessed was that for a straight year, every single day, right at two o’clock her office door would close by itself...unexplained. She would prop it open sometimes to make sure that it couldn’t close and yet it would close by itself. I think the scariest thing that I found out about the Doctor’s House is based in its history. So it was built in 1867 and it’s called the Doctor’s House because a series of doctors lived here in the past. And there was one doctor who had a daughter. This daughter became pregnant out of wedlock. Back then in the 1800s obviously being pregnant out of wedlock was a big no-no. Rather than facing the humiliation of having a pregnant daughter he decided to give her an abortion to abort the baby. It was a disaster, not only was the baby aborted, but his daughter died as well. And to this day, people have witnessed a little girl playing by the chapel, and that’s the chapel right behind me and when they go back, the little girl is gone. That’s kind of spooky if you ask me. Maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not, I don’t know...that’s for you to find out. If you’re interested in this kind of stuff, stay tuned for my video blog that’s coming out early next week where I’m going to interview a psychic on how to clear your home of spirits. Have yourself a happy and safe Halloween.
